Episode 202 – The Marvel Protocol
Duration: 00:57:20 • Size: 39.38 MB

The Game Awards for 2022 just happened and there was a bit to unpack, so Matt & Lucas have compressed it all down to bring you the most important and pertinent facts on the latest episode of the DBG podcast. The guys also discussed the new gen upgrade for The Witcher 3, and reviewed The Callisto Protocol and Marvel’s Midnight Suns. We hope you enjoy the show! Read more…

The Callisto Protocol (PS5)
The Callisto Protocol was expected to be the Dead Space of 2022, which it turned out not to be at all. Due to the nature of the genre, some elements are there, however Callisto Protocol is not what we all expected. Ambient music forecasting potential jump scares, a steep difficulty curve, and cumbersome character death scenes make this game fall short of being an truly A-grade horror game.
Marvel's Midnight Suns (PS5)
A surprisingly good game, although it really should be no surprise given the pedigree of the developer Firaxis. While the card based tactical combat gameplay is top tier the dialogue and story elements are a little below what we have come to expect from AAA games. A definite buy for Marvel fans and fans of the turn based tactical genre.

A definite buy for Marvel fans and fans of the turn based tactical genre.
The Quarry (PS5)
The Quarry is an interactive horror movie/game from Supermassive Games. QuickTime events put you in control of the fate of a great cast of teens, as you try your best to keep them alive. More sitting around watching cut-scenes than interacting, but it will keep you entertained for a few hours.
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge (PS5)
A perfect recreation of classic arcade games and overflowing with nostalgia for us oldies who were fans of the cartoons and movies. Couch co-op works perfectly and the controls are fluid and responsive, what more could you ask for?
