Flooding in Queensland

These last few weeks have delivered deluge after deluge of rainfall on many areas of Queensland here in Australia, and they have culminated this past week with some of the worst flooding we have seen in over 30 years. Lucas, Jammy and I are all based in Brisbane, which is currently seeing some of the worst flood water levels in over a hundred years. Luckily our homes are safely on high ground, this unfortunately cannot be said for the thousands of other people here and around the state who have lost their homes and possessions. Our thoughts and hearts go out to everyone affected.

As a result of these floods, there are going to be times of blackouts and possibly loss of phone and internet services until the water levels drop. These problems, along with our general busyness helping out our neighbors where we can means that the content on Drop Bear Gaming may be sparse for a few days. We hope you bear with us during this tough time and keep visiting as we have plenty to come in the future! I would also like to personally say that I hope all of you and your friends and families are safe and dry, and to anyone affected by this disaster we hope the recovery process goes smoothly for you.

The Premier of Queensland has started a flood appeal charity for donations to assist in the recovery and rebuild to come, and to help the people who have lost so much. If you wish to donate please visit:

http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

Also if you are in Australia and want to donate any physical items like toys for the children, food, clothes, furniture etc or you want to volunteer to help, a toll free number has been set up by Volunteering Queensland to provide information. That number is 1800 994 100

Stay positive everyone, we can and will recover from this, we are Australians after all and as always please stay safe.
