Firemint Drops First Gameplay Trailer of SPY mouse

Aussie developers Firemint announced their latest project back in March at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. At the time the new game was being shown off with the name Agent Squeek, however since then they have given it a new name and it’s nearly ready for launch. Read more…

EA to buy PopCap

EA are really taking the casual game space seriously, after buying the Australian iOS development company Firemint, they have now turned their sights on PopCap. In a rumoured takeover price of US$1billion (that’s about $53.20 in Australia), this look’s to be the largest take over of a social gaming company in history.

Today iOS heavy weight Firemint was bought by gaming heavy weight champion EA. In a press statement released on the Firemint website, the Firemint CEO Rob Murray stated “I just wanted to drop everyone a quick note about the planned acquisition of Firemint by EA. This is a pretty exciting move for us and for EA”.
