Heavy Armor for PAX East

Vertical Tanks are back as THQ announce the next instalment of Steel Battalion; Heavy Armor, will be playable at Boston’s PAX East on April 6 – 8.

In a recent press release THQ said ‘Everyone attending PAX East in Boston on April 6 until April 8 2012 will be able to play the game for the very first time. Players will be able to try out the Manhattan Beach Landing at the Capcom booth (950), while a brand new exclusive mission set in downtown New York is playable at the Microsoft booth (524).’

The story sounds interesting as the release continues to explain ‘Set in 2082, Steel Battalion Heavy Armour depicts a world devoid of computers, where war is waged with rudimentary weapons as new superpowers struggle for dominance. In this low-tech era there is one weapon class that will determine the course of the war – the Vertical Tank. Players take on the role of VT pilot Sgt. Powers as the battle to regain the United States from Chinese occupation begins’

If you’re heading to PAX I’m sure this will not be the game highest on your list, but if the Steel Battalion series continues to offer its fun, challenging and standing-up tank entertainment, then who could just walk past!
