Over the Easter weekend Naughty Dog unveiled two new trailers for their upcoming survival horror action-adventure game The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us follows the protagonist Joel as he goes on a journey across a post-apocalyptic United States while escorting a young teenager named Ellie. Unfortunately it is a post-apocalyptic United States because of a fungus-based infection which first began two decades prior, and which has wiped out a vast majority of the population. I hate when that happens.

Of course that means that Joel and Ellie not only have to deal with the iron-fist martial law of the remaining US Army inside the various Quarantine Zones, but also roaming Infected who (like all infected things) are set on attacking others to spread the infection as much as possible. Oh and don’t forget the other survivors outside of the Quarantine Zones who may want to get their hands on the things Joel and Ellie might have, since they look like easy prey…

The first of the two trailers is the TV ad which aired during the season finale of The Walking Dead, while the second is a more extended gameplay trailer which helps to shed a little more light on the story of Joel and Ellie and their travels.

The Last Of Us is out exclusively on PS3 on June 14th 2013.
