Little Space Heroes is an Aussie made virtual world, currently in development by Bubble Gum Interactive. With the Beta fast approaching you or your kids can be the first in the world to sign up and play the game. To get involved with the beta read on.

So what is Little Space Heroes? Well the website sums it up best:

“Little Space Heroes is an upcoming virtual universe – a social online gaming experience in which kids get to create their own character and explore a universe full of fun and adventure. The game is all about adventure, mystery and discovery. Children are encouraged to work together as they go on quests, play mini-games and solve mysteries. Learning the art of team play and sharing, socialising and communicating are cornerstone elements of the Little Space Heroes game. We know how much children love to express themselves. Little Space Heroes lets players customise their own character and create their own story, with plenty of opportunities for role playing and imaginative play.”

Bubble Gum have just also been successful is securing Two NSW government grants which will assist in the continued growth and success of the awesome team and the games they are creating. Firstly a $90,000 grant was obtained from Screen Australia who supply support for Australian Film, Television, Documentary and Digital media makers, Secondly a $155,000 grant from the NSW Department on Industry and Investment as part of a key initiative of the state government to provide $1.5 million in funding to local businesses engaged in creating media destined for distribution on the internet, wireless and mobile platforms or devices.

If you’re a developer in NSW and want to know more, click here. Paul Gray, Bubble Gum’s Marketing and Community Director discussed the grants:

“Securing these grants has ensured Bubble Gum Interactive has the resources and people necessary to create something amazing in Little Space Heroes. We’re thrilled to be part of the NSW and Australian digital and entertainment industry and as a start-up we’re excited to show how new business ideas can have what it takes to secure this level of validation and support.”

Congrats to the team at Bubble Gum and we can’t wait to see the finished product; I know my kids are getting excited too.
